Frequently asked questions
What types of corporate groups is House of Northern Senses suitable for?
House of Northern Senses is particularly well suited for Board and Executive Team meetings, strategy retreats, expert workshops, project teams and selected clients, incentive and stakeholder events.
We also host breakfast meetings, half-day meetings and full-day meetings for companies in the Kuusamo and wider northern region.
What group size can you accommodate?
The recommended size for a residential corporate group is 6–16 guests. Eight guests can each have a private bedroom. With 9–16 guests, some rooms will be shared.
Extra beds or additional accommodation outside the property can be planned separately for larger groups. Breakfast meetings and selected day events can accommodate approximately 20 guests, depending on the room setup.
Can our meeting room remain set up throughout the day?
Yes. For meetings requiring uninterrupted concentration, an external facilitator or a dedicated workspace throughout the day, we recommend separating the main meeting room, dining area and breakout spaces.
The main workspace can then remain fully set up throughout the day, with no need to remove laptops, documents or other materials for meals. The most suitable room arrangement is confirmed in the proposal.
Are separate breakout spaces available?
Yes. At least two separate breakout spaces are available, depending on the selected main meeting room.
When the lounge is used as the main meeting space, the dining room bay window area and the sauna lounge can be used for breakout sessions. When the dining room is used as the main meeting room, the two lounge areas can accommodate more informal group discussions. The multifunction room in the adjacent building can also provide an additional space for approximately ten guests.
What meeting equipment is available?
Standard meeting equipment includes a 55-inch display, wireless sound system, two microphones and flipcharts. Additional technical equipment can be arranged in advance.
When preparing the proposal, we also ask about the technical requirements of external speakers, facilitators and remote participants.
Can the programme be built around our own agenda?
Yes. Working sessions, meals, sauna experiences and other activities are scheduled around the objectives of the group. The client decides how much time is dedicated to working, recovery and private experiences.
What dining options are available?
We provide breakfasts, meeting refreshments, buffet lunches and dinners according to the group’s schedule. Dining can range from informal meeting meals to a more refined dinner or a private chef experience hosted at HoNS.
Menus are planned according to the season, the nature of the occasion and confirmed dietary requirements. Final participant numbers and dietary requirements are normally confirmed at least seven days before the event unless otherwise agreed in the proposal.
Can sauna and lake swimming be included?
Yes. The property offers a modern SPA sauna with a heated indoor pool, a traditional wood-heated lakeside sauna and an authentic smoke sauna.
Lake swimming is possible throughout the year, and private winter swimming can be included in the sauna programme when conditions are allowed. The selected saunas and operating times are confirmed in the proposal.
Can you arrange private experiences and transfers?
Yes. Together with trusted local partners, we can arrange activities such as private snowmobile safaris, husky and reindeer experiences, ice fishing, snowshoeing, hiking and national park excursions.
We can also arrange regular airport and event transfers according to the group’s schedule. Availability of activities and special transportation is confirmed before the booking is finalised.
Is House of Northern Senses accessible?
House of Northern Senses is not fully accessible and is not officially classified as an accessible property. Assisted access to the main meeting and common areas can be arranged with portable ramps, and the shared indoor areas are mainly step-free.
Two Cozy Double rooms can accommodate a wheelchair user with assistance. The guest toilet can be used with assistance but does not meet official accessible toilet standards. The sauna areas are not accessible.
Please tell us about any mobility or assistance requirements in the initial enquiry so that we can assess whether the visit can be arranged safely and comfortably.
How is sustainability reflected in your operations?
House of Northern Senses was awarded the Green Key environmental certification and the Sustainable Travel Finland label in 2026.
Responsibility is reflected in our daily operations, purchasing decisions, monitoring resource use, preference for local suppliers and ingredients, and the way we plan events together with our clients. For us, sustainability is a commitment to continuous improvement.

How quickly will we receive an initial proposal?
We acknowledge the enquiry as soon as possible. An initial proposal is normally provided within 1–2 business days or according to the requested deadline.
If preparing the proposal requires availability checks with external service providers, we will also provide an estimated response time.
Can we visit the property before confirming the booking?
Yes. We can first arrange a video presentation and, where useful, agree on a site inspection. The timing and any meal, accommodation or sauna arrangements are agreed case by case.
Can an event agency or MICE partner book on behalf of its client?
Yes. HoNS works with event agencies, DMCs and international MICE partners. The partner’s role, ownership of the client relationship, invoicing and division of responsibilities are agreed in writing before the booking is confirmed.
Can you provide information for supplier registration?
Yes. Upon request, we provide Nordic Inspiration Oy’s company, invoicing and contact information together with the required sustainability and supplier documentation. We recommend starting supplier registration well before the event.
Can you provide references from corporate events you have hosted?
Yes. We can provide references from corporate events hosted at House of Northern Senses upon request. If you would like to speak with a previous client, we can explore that separately with their consent.
What are your payment and cancellation terms?
A booking is confirmed in writing and normally with a 30% advance payment. The final invoice is issued after the event, allowing any services ordered or used during the stay to be included. The payment term for the final invoice is 14 days.
Final participant numbers and dietary requirements must be confirmed no later than seven days before the event. Invoicing is based on the latest confirmed number of participants or the actual number if attendance is higher.
Cancellation terms for HoNS services are included in the proposal. Third-party services, such as private activities, private chefs and special transportation, may be subject to different payment and cancellation terms. These will be communicated before the relevant service is confirmed.
